BEST BUYS OF 2023
The end of the year is the perfect time to reflect on what you added to your closet in 2023. What were your favorites? What did you reach for time and time again? What was truly worth the money? What do you regret buying? What did you buy but never wear?
Identifying your wins and misses can help you shop smarter in 2024. Learning from your past shopping mistakes ensures you’re not doomed to repeat them. By analyzing your decisions, you can be armed with better information to make good decisions going forward.
This year I’ve had less buyer’s remorse than ever. Every purchase I’ve made goes through a pretty rigorous decision making process before I actually hit the “check out” button.
This year I invested mostly in knit tees/tanks, blazers/cardigans, and accessories to maximize versatility and outfit combinations.
I didn’t need to buy any new woven tops or blouses, boots/loafers/flats, handbags (other than a tote for work), or new outerwear. I felt covered in most of these categories from purchases I made in 2021 and 2022.
I started down this path of shopping more strategically in 2020 and it’s really gratifying to see that I’m still reguarly wearing styles that I bought years before without being sick of them or feeling like I need a total wardrobe overhaul. This is how I can tell I’m on the right track with building a wardrobe with staying power.
